   There are very few experiences quite like standing beneath a sky that suddenly lights up with greens, red, purples and oranges. The darkness becomes a canvas of shifting lights overhead—sometimes quietly, sometimes with breathtaking intensity. Aurora photography is as much about the experience of being there as it is about the image itself: the cold air, the long hours waiting, the uncertainty if anything will appear. Then that one moment when you look up and realize the sky has changed and you stand in AWE of the light show nature is putting on.
